Chevrolet Silverado beats all, driving 1,705 km on a single charge.
Automaker General Motors has announced a new achievement: the Chevrolet Silverado electric pickup truck has traveled a distance of 1,705 km without recharging, thereby setting a record for the longest range among electric vehicles.

he tests, which lasted a week, took place on public roads near the GM proving grounds in Milford, as well as in Detroit's Belle Isle Park. During the tests, the electric vehicle moved at speeds of 32-40 km / h, actively using intelligent control systems.
The 2026 Silverado All-Electric Work Edition was chosen for the experiment. The declared range of this model is 793 km, but engineers managed to significantly exceed this figure thanks to a number of improvements.
GM clarified that the tests were conducted in the summer to ensure optimal battery performance. To reduce air resistance, the following measures were taken: the windshield wiper position was changed, the tire pressure was increased, the spare tire was removed, and the wheel alignment angles were adjusted. Additionally, the pickup bed was equipped with a special aerodynamic cover, and the air conditioning system was turned off for the entire test period.
It is worth noting that the Silverado has previously demonstrated impressive range figures. In tests conducted by Edmunds, the version with an extended battery traveled 867 km on a single charge, which is 75 km more than the manufacturer's stated figure. Currently, the record for the maximum mileage on an electric vehicle belongs to the Lucid Air Grand Touring (1,206 km), surpassing the previous result of the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ (1,045 km).
