The Atom electric car will appear in the summer: the estimated cost has been announced.
At the MIMS-2025 exhibition, Rosatom once again presented the Atom electric car platform, the launch of mass production of which is scheduled for the middle of this year at the Moskvich automobile plant.

Editor-in-chief of the Za Rulem publication Maxim Kadakov noted that the degree of localization of the main units and components of the new electric car is planned to be increased to 70%, while some components will come from China. According to him, the cost of the electric car is unlikely to be lower than 3 million rubles, but thanks to state programs with subsidies, the price for buyers may be lower than this mark. The production of body parts will be organized on the territory of the special economic zone "Alabuga", but some elements, for example, transverse floor reinforcements, thresholds and door arches, which require hot stamping technology, will be supplied from China. Such decisions are justified by low production volumes, which makes domestic production of these parts in Russia economically impractical.

Initially, it was planned that the Atom would receive a modern "drive by wire" wheel control system, but at the start of serial production it was decided to use the usual rack and pinion steering with electric power steering. This approach will remain, according to Kadakov, at least for the next year, and possibly longer. Experts note that the launch of the new electric car is expected with great interest, since it can become one of the most affordable Russian electric cars on the market.
