Neta Announces Launch of X Model in Thailand.
Neta has officially launched the Neta X compact SUV in Thailand and Malaysia. This electric crossover has been adapted for right-hand drive.
The Neta X is an updated version of the original Neta U model, which was restyled in 2023 and renamed the Neta X. This crossover has a starting price of 99,800 yuan (about $13,750) in China and measures 4619 x 1860 x 1628 mm, with a wheelbase of 2770 mm.
In Thailand, the Neta X is available in two versions, priced from 739,000 to 799,000 baht (from $20,580 to $22,250). In Malaysia, three trim levels are offered, with prices ranging from RM119,888 to RM135,888 (US$25,750 to US$29,180). In comparison, the official price of the Neta X in China is RM99,800 to RM124,800 (US$13,750 to US$17,200).
The Neta X sold in Thailand and Malaysia features right-hand drive, a 15.6-inch floating central control screen and an 8.9-inch floating instrument cluster. Multitasking voice control, online music, built-in navigation, and mobile app control are supported. The car also offers L2 driver assistance systems.
Models for Thailand and Malaysia are equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that produces a maximum power of 120 kW and peak torque of 210 Nm. The cars come with either 51.8 kWh or 62 kWh batteries, giving a WLTP range of 323 km and 410 km, respectively.
Late last year, Hozon Auto’s Neta brand began production of its first model, the Neta V-II (known as the Neta Aya in China), in Thailand. Production was initially expected to begin in January 2024, but a partnership with local company Bangchan General Assembly has enabled it to start earlier. The recently launched Neta X is also produced at the same plant.
Neta was the second-largest electric car seller in Thailand after BYD, selling 12,777 EVs. These sales were driven by a single model, the Neta V, which was the second-best-selling EV in Thailand last year. By 2024, the Neta brand plans to cover 50 countries with its global sales network and open 500 overseas sales and service outlets.
