It's only been a couple of days since the all-electric Chevrolet Silverado EV debuted at CES 2022. The automaker has already confirmed that the RST First Edition variant is completely sold out.
General Motors CEO Mary Barra said the Silverado EV RST First Edition was disassembled in just 12 minutes. However, it's important to note that Chevrolet only opened reservations for the Silverado EV, meaning no one actually paid the full $105,000 to buy it. It's also worth noting that GM hasn't said how many RST First Edition models it plans to produce.
Notably, the RST First Edition won't actually be the first Silverado EV variant to hit the market. However, this is the first model that customers can book.
The first model to hit showrooms will be the fleet-focused WT variant, with 510 horsepower.
The model will initially have a towing capacity of 3,629 kg. Ultimately, the car will be offered with a maximum towing package that increases it to 9,072 kg.
As for the Silverado EV RST First Edition, it will be equipped with a pair of electric motors that together produce 664 hp. and a torque of 1056 Nm. This will allow the truck to accelerate to 96 km/h in less than 4.5 seconds. It will also have a range of 644 km on a single charge.
