The Chinese company BYD introduced a new hybrid pickup truck called Shark in Mexico. It will be a global model with key markets in North America and Australia. The car was valued at $53,400
The design is based on BYD's own DMO platform, developed for hybrid SUVs. Exact dimensions of Shark: 5457/1971/1925 mm, with a wheelbase of 3260 mm. As for its cargo platform, it has a volume of 1450 liters. and can withstand up to 835 kg. It is also noted that the pickup has a towing capacity of up to 2,500 kg.
Shark is equipped with two electric motors and a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine. The power of the front electric motor is 231 hp. and 310 Nm of torque, and rear - 204 hp. and 340 Nm. Total output - 435 hp. and 650 Nm. The stated acceleration to “hundreds” is 5.7 s. The car received a battery with a capacity of 30 kWh with an electric power reserve of 100 km. In hybrid mode, the pickup will be able to overcome up to 840 on the NEDC cycle. Average fuel consumption is 7.5 liters.
