Toyota USA allegedly plans to sell the next-generation Land Cruiser Prado

Toyota has announced the premiere of the new Land Cruiser Prado.
The rumors were true - Toyota is indeed returning the Land Cruiser nameplate to the United States. The five-second clip posted on social media is accompanied by a message almost confirming that the name will hit the US market again.
"Did you really think we'd be gone for a long time? The legend is coming back," the video says.
As for the video itself, it shows vintage badges that the venerable SUV has used for many years. This is all that is known at the moment, but it is enough to make Americans happy to return. Since there are no details about what form it will take in the United States, all we can do is speculate for now. According to a report published last week by Automotive News, Toyota won't actually introduce the LC300, which has been around for a couple of years in other markets.
Instead, Toyota USA allegedly plans to sell the next-generation Land Cruiser Prado. The smaller SUV can drop the "Prado" suffix in North America and will be assembled on the same platform with a frame as the full-size Land Cruiser. It will have a lot in common with the recently unveiled Lexus GX, but will apparently be cheaper given the Toyota badge.
It is believed that the new Land Cruiser Prado will be slightly longer, wider and taller than the previous model. The ladder frame has been designed with electrification in mind, which means it can be used for hybrids, plug-in hybrids and even pure electric vehicles. Rumor has it that there are plans to sell both the GX and Prado with a hybrid powerplant, with the latter said to receive an electrified 2.4-liter engine in Japan.
It is planned that the new GX will go on sale in the United States early next year, and logic tells us that the Land Cruiser Prado will appear next, given that Toyota has initiated a teaser campaign. It is expected that the official debut of the new product will take place in the coming weeks.Toyota has announced the premiere of the new Land Cruiser Prado.
