Fiat anticipates that the new 500 mild hybrid will sell more than 100,000 units annually. According to a Fiat spokesman, the business is working on an electric 500e variant with a mildly hybrid gasoline drivetrain. Sales of this vehicle are expected to surpass 110,000 units yearly.
As the firm delivers a more inexpensive version of its all-electric car, demand for the new Fiat 500 mild hybrid is likely to be in the range of 100,000-110,000 units a year, according to a company executive.
Amidst a global slowdown in electric vehicle sales, Fiat's parent company, Stellantis, announced last month that it would add hybrid versions to the 500e small electric car and the Jeep Compass SUV, both of which will be built in Italy.

In an extremely unusual move, the 500e, which has only been offered as an electric vehicle since its 2020 launch, will now be redesigned with a 48-volt mild hybrid system based on the tiny Firefly petrol engine. As Fiat is discontinuing the older 500 version that was assembled in Poland, the 500e Hybrid will be built on the same platform as the 500e EV.
Automotive News Europe reports that Fiat aims to sell 125,000 hybrid 500 units annually, based on information provided by suppliers. The 500e EV has a starting price of about 29,000 euros. The US will also see the release of this model.
The CEO of the Fiat brand, Francois Olivier, stated that because the hybrid 500e will have more technological features than the Polish-built model, which starts at €18,000, it will cost "several hundred euros" more.
Production at Fiat's headquarters, the Mirafiori complex in Turin, Italy, is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2026.
