GEELY has introduced the Geely Atlas crossover of the second generation.
The familiar Geely Atlas crossover in China has been sold under the local name Geely Boyue from the very beginning. Last year, a second-generation car debuted there, but the first was an elongated version of the Geely Boyue L. Now, the "regular" Geely Boyue Cool crossover is ready for its debut, which will be a direct replacement for the Boyue/Atlas model.
Boyu Cool and Boyue L, although they are two varieties of the same model, differ not only in the size of the wheelbase (2701 mm and 2777 mm, respectively). The cars are made in the same style with a similar design of optics and the relief of the sidewalls, but they have different bodies. Even the elements of the front part (wings, hood, headlights) are not interchangeable. The length of the crossovers is 4510 and 4670 mm. In addition, the width (1865 and 1900 mm) and height (1650 and 1705 mm, respectively) differ.
The interior of the short Cool version is not shown yet. But with the technique, everything is already clear. Like the long Boyue L, the short crossover is built on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform, originally developed by Volvo. So far, only the basic version with a 1.5 turbocharger (181 hp, 290 Nm), a seven-speed preselective "robot" and front-wheel drive has been announced.
The full debut of the Geely Boyue Cool crossover will take place in April. Sales in China will begin by the summer, and the company promises not to delay exports. Hybrids will appear later, but there is no question of a two-liter turbo engine, like the L-version.
