Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi has officially introduced a new generation of Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck. The model is also known in some countries under the name Triton. The novelty is the first Mitsubishi pickup truck in 12 years to be sold in the company's native Japan. This was reported by the manufacturer's press service on July 27.
The new generation of the L200 all-wheel drive pickup truck can offer the buyer three variations of the power plant. Thus, the Nissan 4N16 diesel engine will be available in three boost options: 150, 184 and 204 hp. A six-speed manual and automatic transmission is available to choose from.
Externally, the pickup truck follows the Mitsubishi design code: the letter X is easy to read in the design of the front of the car. The dimensions of the car: 5360 mm - length, 1930 mm ― width, 1815 mm ― height, and the size of the wheelbase is 3130 mm. One of the main features of the new L200 platform is the increased rigidity of the body by 60% due to the use of high―strength steel.
A month and a half ago, Mitsubishi introduced a new generation of the legendary Colt subcompact to the European market, which was in the model line of the Japanese company from 1962 to 2013. The new hatchback appeared to the buyer in the form of a reshaped Renault Clio.
The Mitsubishi novelty will be produced at the Renault plant in Turkey, and will also share power plants with its French badge engineering counterpart. The interior of the subcompact remained almost unchanged, except for the "three diamonds" emblem on the steering wheel and slightly modified finishing materials. The car is equipped with a 10-inch media system display, a Bose audio system, adaptive cruise control and an all-round camera.
