Volkswagen has confirmed recent reports about its new electric concept, which debuted today. VW ID wall demonstrated the future production model in the compact segment, located below the ID 3, with a starting price below the 25,000 euro mark.

During the announcement of its earnings for 2022, Volkswagen said that the production version of the ID 2 all will be one of 10 future electric vehicles that will be released by 2026. The novelty is described as a hands-on preview of the first electric VW for everyone, emphasizing its accessibility. It is expected to fill the gap between the upcoming entry-level ID hatchback 1 and the recently updated compact hatchback ID 3.
The automaker did not tell us the exact date of the release of the new model on the market, but earlier comments from representatives of the VW Group suggest that it should not be expected before 2025.
The Volkswagen interior is equipped with a multimedia complex with a 12.9-inch touch screen. Underneath it is a newly designed HVAC control panel with illuminated buttons, and a control knob on the center console controls the menu.
The production version of VW ID 2all will be a compact electric car, which means that its area will be slightly smaller than the length of ID 4261 mm. The electric vehicle has dimensions of 4050 mm in length, 1812 mm in width and 1530 mm in height with 2600 mm between the wheels. It's shorter than the Golf, but they have a similar wheelbase. The layout of the electric vehicle allows you to pack a lot of things, offering a load capacity from 490 to 1330 liters.
It will be based on the upgraded MEB + architecture, which will also underlie the smaller supermini hatchback ID 1. Both models will be produced at the Martorell factory near Barcelona, along with similar offerings from Cupra and Skoda.
What is not yet clear is whether VW will use an obvious ID plate 2, which would match the current model range, or go for a more nostalgic ID. Rumor has it that this is the nickname of Golf.
