The first Mercedes-Benz model from the Mythos collection line was presented. Its commercial version will be released next year and will become “the pinnacle of exclusivity from Mercedes-Benz,” as evidenced by the pompous premiere in Monaco. The entire edition of 250 copies will be distributed to selected customers. There is no need to attract buyers, since PureSpeed does not have many competitors - Ferrari Monza, McLaren Elva and a couple of other models.

The highlight of the car is a completely open cockpit, with a halo, like a Formula 1 car. The jumper protects during a rollover, does not interfere with the view of the driver and passenger, and is rigidly attached directly to the body. The PureSpeed has neither a roof nor a windshield - and this is the main difference from the donor SL. The design makes references to the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar, and the car comes with two specially designed helmets. The paint scheme of the premiere supercar is an allusion to the colors of the Mercedes Tipo Indy 2.0, which won the 1924 Targa Florio.
There is no information about the powertrain. By all rights, there must be something very powerful here, so the choice is limited to two options: either the V8 4.0 biturbo engine from the SL 63 4Matic+ or a hybrid system, like the SL 63 S E Performance. The output in the first case is 585 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, in the second - 816 horsepower and 1420 Nm. The roadsters accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.6 and 2.9 seconds, respectively.
