The most reliable compact crossover in 2023 has been revealed
The RAV4's reliability rating was 8 points out of 10
The most reliable compact crossover in 2023 has been revealed: it is not produced by Toyota.
Toyota is perhaps the most famous Japanese automaker for the trouble-free nature of its cars, but the latest reliability ratings suggest that it is not always the leader in this indicator.
Not so long ago, the American analytical agency "iSeeCars" published a fresh list of the strongest compact crossovers on the market, which are most likely to be able to overcome the mark of 400 thousand kilometers. And, interestingly, the Toyota RAV4, although it entered it, took far from the first line. "RAFik" lost to Subaru Forester, Subaru Outback and Honda CR-V.
The RAV4's reliability rating was 8 points out of 10, while its, perhaps, main competitor from the "land of the rising sun" earned 8.5 points, thereby turning out to be the most trouble-free compact SUV in 2023.
Recall that the Honda CR-V of the new generation was introduced in 2022. The crossover has changed a little externally, but technically it remains the same reliable car. The length of the machine increased by 69 mm to 4694 mm, the width added 9 mm to 1864 mm, and the height, on the contrary, decreased by 7 mm to 1692 mm.
The base engine for it was a one-and-a-half-liter "supercharged" gasoline engine, producing 193 horsepower. A variator made up a bundle for him.
An alternative option was a hybrid power plant based on a 2-liter gasoline engine running on the Atkinson cycle. Its output was equal to 207 hp and 335 Nm against 215 hp and 315 Nm from its predecessor.
In Russia, Honda cars have been officially unavailable since the beginning of 2022, but CR-V crossovers of the new generation are imported from the United States by gray dealers. They are not cheap – from 4.5 million rubles, which is more than 2 times more expensive than in the American market.
