The Ford Explorer EV is built on the Volkswagen MEB platform — the two companies began actively cooperating several years ago. The closest "relative" of the novelty in terms of technology is the Volkswagen ID.4 electric car, but Ford has a completely original body and interior design. The company has not yet disclosed the detailed technical specifications of the model. It is only known that the Ford Explorer EV will be available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The power reserve on one charge will be approximately 500 km.
European dealers have already started accepting pre-orders for the novelty, prices for the Explorer EV start at around 45 thousand euros. The production of the crossover will be handled by a plant in Germany.
